Bestiary of Armageddon 2 Contest Starts TODAY!!!!

Last year, we did our 1st Bestiary of Armageddon Contest, and this year we are doing it again. Louis Porter Jr. Design is going to do a contest for our Obsidian Apocalypse campaign. This 2nd the Bestiary of Armageddon Contest and as like last time, we ARE trying to kill PCs with these monsters / templates that you will be creating.

This contest is giving you a chance to monster / template design where the fans of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game get to test their skills and abilities designing amazing monsters / templates that will be judged by LPJ Design staff members. Those wanting to prove themselves as game designers will be able to create monsters / templates to fit into the Obsidian Apocalypse campaign setting. An just in case you were wonder here is the list of writers who won last year: James Desborough, Robert “Bob” E. Bestiary of Armageddon Contest ends in under 40 hours. Have you submitted a monster yet?

As with our Obsidian Apocalypse Kickstarter, there are only 40 hours left to submit to the Bestiary of Armageddon Contest. If you EVER wanted to be published in a book with the names like Richard Pett, Owen K.C. Stephens, Rich Redman and many others NOW IS THE TIME!!! 40 hours is all that is left betweet you and living out your dreams of being a published game designer. For some reason people keep missing that we have a Bestiary of Armageddon Contest going on in conjunction with the Obsidian Apocalypse kickstarter. We want to give you MORE monsters but for some reason you have not told your friends to submit a monster to us. Think about it, you could get your monster published in the same book Richard Pett, Owen KC Stephens and JP Chapleau and that would make you a PROFESSIONAL WRITER!!! So if you want to submit a monster and take your chance at success then I say go for it! But remember you only have 8 days to submit a monst and donate to the Obsidian Apocalypse kickstarter. Obsidian Apocalypse Bestiary of Armageddon Contest: So, when do we find out who the finalists are?

So, when do we find out who the finalists are for the Obsidian Apocalypse Bestiary of Armageddon Contest? 

On that front we have a good news / better news situation. First off the good news, since I like the responses that we received for this contest I have decided to extend it for the length of our Obsidian Apocalypse Kickstarter project. So now this contest will be ending September 3rd, 2012. Now for the better new, everyone who has submitted up to the original deadline will have their monster placed into the final Obsidian Apocalypse versions (B & W, color AND PDF)!!! So if you have already submitted a monster you will be receiving a writing credits right next to the superstars of RPG writing like Richard Pett, Owen KC Stephens and Rich Redman! So for all you that missed the original deadline, you still have time to submit a cool monster, for all you that did submit by the original deadline, congratulation you just received a writing credit from LPJ Design.

Obsidian Apocalypse: Bestiary of Armageddon Contest

So I have been inspired by King of the Monster Contest by Open Design/Kobold Quarterly and I have decided that Louis Porter Jr. Design is going to do a contest for the upcoming ObsidianApocalypse kickstarter which we are calling the Bestiary of Armageddon Contest (so you know we ARE trying to kill PCs with these monsters / templates)!!!  This contest is giving you a chance to monster / template design where the fans of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game get to test their skills and abilities designing amazing monsters / templates that will be judged by many LPJ Design staff members.  Those wanting to prove themselves as game designers will be able to create monsters / templates to fit into the upcoming Obsidian Apocalypse campaign setting and even the original Obsidian Twilight setting.

OK this contest works like this:

• Your monsters / templates submission for Bestiary of Armageddon Contest MUST BE sent to no later than Friday, July 20th, by 3 PM EST.
• Send your submission to LMPjr007 (at) Gmail (dot) com with your full name and contact information should be in the body of the email (not in your attachment).
• The file must be submitted as a doc, docx, or rtf attachment. No any other format will be accepted!!!
• The monsters / templates submission must be designed for Pathfinder Roleplaying Game with the essence of the monsters / templates should work well within world of post-apocalyptic survival horror setting of Obsidian Twilight or Obsidian Apocalypse.
• The monsters / templates submission will be 800 words or less and contain 1 full stat block and the fitting fluff text and lore to flesh out your creation. The monsters / templates can be any kind or level, just make sure they are interesting and terrifying to PCs.
• And most important: If you cannot follow these simple rules, THEN YOU WILL NOT WIN! Follow the rules and be a success! We WANT you to win!

JUDGING THE BESTIARY OF ARMAGEDDON CONTEST
All submissions that meet the criteria will be entered in the contest and we will be judging your submission on ability of game design, clear writing and making monsters that are actually scary. The 10 best monsters / templates will be published on LPJ Design Website and LPJ Design Blog and be voted on by the public. Out of the 10 monsters, the top six with the winning votes will be invited to be included in the Obsidian Apocalypse Bestiary.

PRIZES FOR THE WINNERS

The winning monsters / templates will have its portrait commissioned and be published in a successful funding of the Obsidian Apocalypse kickstarter.  In addition, its designer will receive a free print or PDF copy of the Obsidian Apocalypse in which the monster appears and of course professional writing credit in the RPG industry.

ADDITIONAL CONTEST RULES

1. The contest is open to all. So PLEASE submit to it!
2. One entry per person. The entry must be your own work, which has not been published previously, is not being considered for publication by any other publisher, and is original and does not infringe upon any copyrighted material.
3. All entries become property of LPJ Design.
4. By entering this contest, you authorize the use of your name and likeness without additional compensation for promotion and advertising purposes in all media.
5. This contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws where applicable.
6. Louis Porter Jr. Design Inc reserves the right to withdraw or terminate this contest at any time without prior notice.
7. All decisions of Louis Porter Jr. Design Inc and the contest judges are final.
