[LPJ Design] Monsters of NeoExodus: Dragons for The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Now available

Louis Porter Jr. Design, has released Monsters of NeoExodus: Dragons for The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game at RPGNow.com and DriveThruRPG.com. Here is information on this product:

The world of Exodus is inhabited by marvelous creatures, both dangerous and benign. Among the mightiest of these are dragons. Described herein are two new categories of dragon that can be found upon Exodus: the noble and mysterious stellar dragons, and the fell creatures known as conflict dragons. Both types provide for dangerous new foes. While the stellar dragons may be noble and high-minded, they tend to be dismissive of lesser creatures, finding them expendable in the face of achieving the greater good. The conflict dragons delight in misery and destruction and will run unchecked through the world, bringing its eventual demise, unless stopped by those with the power to do so.

Dragons of NeoExodus - Good and Evil

I am working on the most classic of fantasy monsters, the dragon, for the NeoExodus: A House Divided campaign setting. I have wondered how I would do dragons differently then most other fantasy setting.  The one thing that I think I had to change was the naming process of the dragons themselves.  White dragon, Black dragon, Gold dragon and Silver dragon don't really have what I would consider scary or interesting names so I can up with names for NeoExodus dragons:
  • Good Dragons: Nebula dragon, Solar dragon, Stellar dragon, Bezimer (Infinity Dragon; dragon king of good dragons) & (2) Unnamed dragon types.
  • Evil: Dragons: Armageddon dragon, Carnage dragon, Havoc dragon, Holocaust dragon, Wrath dragon & Shaitan (Apocalypse dragon; dragon king of evil dragons).
OK with the name we have, you know EXACTLY which ones are the good ones and which one are the bad one.  Another thing I am doing is splitting up the damage their breath weapon does and doing very unique breath weapons. For example one of the dragon's breath weapon is half a swarm of stirges / half filth fever disease (evil of course).  With this breath weapon, most PC are immune to something (disease seems most common) but most are not immune to more monsters especially those who try to drain your PCs blood.  The thought process when creating the dragon's breath weapon is something that I think will make the dragons even more interesting. I wonder what other interesting breath weapons I can come up with.  How about a breath weapon that is combination of blade barrier and chain lightning. How much fun it is to be on the receiving end of that one?  Talk to you later...

Dragons of NeoExodus, Here is what I know so far...

It isn't much, but htis is what I have been working on so far:
  • There are 10 dragons (2 Dragon Lords and 8 specific dragons) for the NeoExodus setting. 5 of the are good (All the stellar named dragons), 5 of them are evil (All the combat / attitude named dragons).
  • Bezmiar, the Infinity Dragon (Good) - Breath Weapon: Maybe a temporal effect. Something like you age 200 years per blast. Something like that.
  • Tyre, Sidon & Shaitan, the three headed Armageddon Dragon (Evil) - Breath Weapon: Not sure, but Shaitan has heads and when is roars all within 100 feet save verse deafening, fear, ect.
  • Eclipse Dragon (Good) - Breath Weapon: Not sure
  • Fury Dragon (Evil) – Cone Breath Weapon: Hellfire (Half the damage is fire damage, but the rest is evil energy from the lower planes which is not affected by resistance to fire - evil creatures, creatures native to evil planes, and creatures immune to death effects are not affected by the profane energy).
  • Nebula Dragon (Good) – Line Breath Weapon: Not sure
  • Frenzy Dragon (Evil) – Line Breath Weapon: half shadow energy (cold damage) type / half positive energy.
  • Sidereal Dragon (Good) – Line Breath Weapon: Not sure
  • Tempest Dragon (Evil) – Cone half chorine (poison) gas / half corrosive (acid) gas. Creatures within a cone of chorine gas must succeed on a Fortitude save or take 1 point of Constitution damage per age category of the dragon immediately and another 1 point of Constitution damage per age category of temporary Constitution damage 1 minute later.
  • Twilight Dragon (Good) – Line Breath Weapon: Not sure
  • Wrath Dragon (Evil) – Cone half acid / half disease (DC: XX, Infection: Contact, Incubation: Immediately, Damage: 1 point of Constitution damage per age category of the dragon. In addition those that fail their roll suffer from the effects of Slimy Doom - Victim turns into infectious goo from the inside out. When damaged, character must succeed on another saving throw or X points of damage per age category of the dragon is permanent drain instead.)

More to come...
