Just Released - Image Portfolio Single 3 & Image Portfolio Single 4

Image Portfolio Singles is the premier line of online PDF stock art resource that gaming companies can use. Unlike the typical Image Portfolio lines, the Single line focus on one piece of artwork that was created specifically to be used as a cover for RPG and Gaming related material and projects. All artwork from the Singles series is at 600 dpi, which is twice the normal image resolution, making it easy to increase the size of the image without any image resolution loss of pixilation. When a person acquires Image Portfolio, any of the art in the PDF can be used in any of their own products as if they owned it them. This is due to the limited licensing agreement of Image Portfolio.

Cross of Fire Cover inspirations from comic books covers...

So I have been thinking about what the final collect PDF of my upcoming Cross of Fire Saga will look like.  That is so like me, what is the cover going to look like BEFORE we even start the project. And I normally use comic books covers to help me decide what a cool looking cover should actually look like. So What I have focusing on has been Marvel Comic Thanos: The Infinity Guantlet. Is is exciting, interesting and impressive. Plus on top of all of that it was done by the world famous George Perez. I mean WHAT kind of cover could be better than a George Perez cover?

By the way, if you have every wondering what kind of cover artwork inspires me, you might want to check out my Pintrest page of comic book covers. If this does not give you any ideas and inspiration for your covers, then you must be dead. Talk to you later...

Cross of Fire Adventure Path for Obsidian Apocalypse goes Transparent!!!

So I have decided that I am going to make this newest adventure path for our Obsidian Apocalypse campaign called The Cross of Fire, a completely transparent event. I will be describing the process of what I do, how I do it, why we do it and other stuff that goes on while doing this adventure path. Giving all the Pathfinder fans a real peak behind the screen of what we have planned for this.  First off the bat, I have decided to have the amazing writer Christina Stiles take over as the lead writer of the project. I offered Christina two projects to choose from and I think she picked this one because I think it was because of the Drow and what we have planned for them.

For those who don’t know, The Cross of Fire is an adventure path I thought up and created nearly two decades ago when I was planning to submit it to Dungeon Magazine.  The Cross of Fire was originally planned to be placed in Ravenloft in the area of Bluetspur. The basic of the adventure is the legend of the ultimate undead killing weapon called the Cross of Fire. The cross was supposedly lost/hidden in monastery in a city that was controlled by a colony of Githyanki; which was built on top of a VERY large sewer / underground system that was under the control of the Drow colony; in an area of Bluetspur which was under the control of the Mind Flayers.  Your adventuring group decided to take on this challenge and recover this ultimate undead killing weapon, because in Ravenloft you can understand why so many people would find this weapon useful.

And that was the pitch that I told anyone and everyone and I told them one day I would create that adventure. Fast forward 20 years and here we are with this expanding to create the now The Cross of Fire Saga Adventure Path now set in Obsidian Apocalypse. Better still we’ve replaced some of the originally planned monsters due to IP issues (Thanks WOTC); so we have replaced the Mind Player with the Phrenic Scourge and we are working on creating on creating a whole new monster as the replacement for the Githyanki. This new monster is being inspired between American Indian and Japanese influences plus I am giving them a VERY distinct weapon with a COOL racial ability / effect, so it is going to be interesting.

Here is the quick outline we have created and plan to get a more detailed version up here as soon as possible with more items fleshed out:

Cross of Fire AP Part 1 – XXXXXXX (No name for the adventure itself be we are working on it.)
  1. Intro and Caravan Raid / Rescue
  2. On the road to XXXXX
  3. Outside of XXXXX
  4. Getting Supplies for trip
  5. On the road to the XXXXX Lands
  6. Exploring the XXXXX Lands
  7. Discovery of the XXXXX Tower
  8. Dungeon Crawl the XXXXX tower
  9. Epilogue / Tie into Part 2

And that is the general overview of what Cross of Fire Adventure Path is going to be but I am SURE there will be a lot of twist and turns from what the final released product becomes. One of the cooler reasons that we are doing this with transparency is we want to hear direct feedback from the fans of Pathfinder and let us know what we are doing right and wrong.

As always, thank you for your support and interest of this project and LPJ Design.. This is going to be A LOT of fun!  Talk to you later…

Alice in Wonderland + Wizard of Oz + Obsidian Apocalypse = ???

I put this up at Facebook and Paizo, so it only made sense to put it here:

Here is a crazy adventure idea for Obsidian Apocalypse that I have been kicking around: Two girls with their armies battle it out for the control of a city. One is named Alice fell down a rabbit hole to get here; The other is named Dorothy who came via a tornado. And the PCs are in the middle trying to protect the city. Welcome to the Emerald Looking Glass Wars. What do you think?
