Hive Niche So varied as to defy easy classification, every Locari variant performs a certain task as though designed for it. As such, an individual Locari Drone can choose one Hive Niche, listed below. If the niche allows, the save is DC 14. This save DC is Constitution based.
Immunity to Magic (Su) Locari are innately occulted from the sight of divination magic. All spells of the divination school automatically fail when targeted against the Locari. In the case of information gathering spells, such as augury, the spell appears to succeed but returns false and misleading information.
Hive Niches Every Locari has a specific task, be it to die in defense of the hive, or to produce the next generation. The Locari’s designers created hundreds, perhaps even thousands, of different type of Locari, and ensured that each would have the tools it needed to do its job. Each category of Locari can choose powers from this list.
- Acidic Detonation (Ex) When killed, the Locari explodes in a shower of acidic gore. Everything within 10 feet is covered with this mess, suffering 1 (acid)/HD of the Locari, for 1D3 rounds (Fortitude Negates).
- Acid Spittle (Ex) Once per hour, a Locari may spit a stream of acid, though in doing so, the Locari damage its own body. As an immediate action, the Locari may choose to lose up to their HDs worth of hp (min 1). Upon doing so, it makes a ranged touch attack against a single target within 30’, with a plus to hit equal to the hit points lost. This attack does 1 point of damage (acid)/HD of the Locari, for a number of rounds equal to the hit points sacrificed.
- Fiery Detonation (Ex) Upon death, the Locari’s body detonates in a ball of flame. Everything within 10’ of the Locari takes 1D3 (fire)/HD the Locari possesses (Dex half).
