Deadly Trap Thursday - Trapped Weapon Hilt & Poisoned Weapon Hilt

Trapped Weapon Hilt (CR 3)
Some canny warriors build deadly spring-work traps into the hilts of their signature weapons. The weapon’s rightful owner can easily disable these traps when he or she draws the blade, usually just by sliding a thumb over a hidden switch or pressing down on what just looks like an innocuous stud hammered into the hilt. Anyone else dumb enough to pick up the weapon is apt to lose fingers.

Effects: 2d6 slashing (REF DC 15 half) and the hand holding the weapon becomes useless until the target recovers at least one hit point by either natural healing or via supernatural means.

Poisoned Weapon Hilt (CR 6)
This modified version of the classic trapped sword hilt takes that extra step into true sadism, adding debilitating poison to the trap’s wicked blades.

Effects: 2d6 slashing (REF DC 15 half) and the hand holding the weapon becomes useless until the target recovers at least one hit point by either natural healing or via supernatural means. Additionally, the victim is exposed to Giant Wasp Poison (Injury DC 18, 1d2 DEX 1/round for 6 rounds).
