What we pay for artwork at LPJ Design…

Several of you who like the artwork always wonder what we pay for artwork.  Other freelance artists are interested in what we pay freelancers.  So I decided to kill two birds with one stone and I am list the pay rates of LPJ Design:

Black & White Artwork

• Head shots or Items: $10
• Character / Monster Design: $45
• Half Page Image: $35

Color Artwork

• Items: $15
• Head shots: $20
• Character / Monster Design: $65 (See the image to the right for an example)
• Half Page Image: $50

That’s right, this is what we pay.  No more, no less.  Shocked? Surprised? Calling me a cheap? Maybe! But one thing you can said about LPJ Design, if you work for us, you will mostly likely be paid within a week of you submitting the final artwork.  So if you are interested in talking to me about being an artist, well now you know what you can expect paywise.  Are you a good artist looking to make some money, then come see us at LPJ Design.  Talk to you later…

Hot Artist of the Week - Raoxcrew

I have seen Raoxcrew work before and what I liked most what I saw. They have a cool "look" that is hard describe. I think they have a large select of art in there gallery, so you can look and what they do and what they do well. I hope they will release more art work to keep showing off their skills. Hot Artist of the Week – Chester Ocampo

One the most interesting things about Chester Ocampo and his Deviantart website website and images, is that many of them have a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 License attached to them. At his personal website his skills are shown to be even more impressive with the several pieces of art there and his work he did in ImagineFX issue 43. The best thing about a hot artist is that you can tell the quality of their work from a mile away. Talk always shines through and Sergio Quijada is a great eaxmple of that. I have been a follower of his work for several years now, since seeing his personal website and the Dini-inspired art work he had done. A very good friend of mind showed me David Grier's artwork with the cover of the Infinity miniatures games. I liked what I saw and continued following his career and works. Here is an artist I like so much I have used some of his character design work as inspiration of a the look and style I want on certain projects. Jeff Wamester understand what quality should be and does it with every line that he draws. While I like his color work, I think his Black & White work is even better. I have worked Butch Mapa on a lot of project from superhero to military to sci-fi to modern. Butch is a multi-talented expert in the area of artwork. He has done several stock art PDF of our Image Portfolio line and proves over and over that being talented and fast can get you a lot of work. Anthony Cournoyer is an amazing artist that I had the pleasure working with on the creation and development of NeoExodus: A House Divided. Jason Walton is one of the best artists I have had the pleasure of working with. Jason was responsible for roughly 90% of all the art work that appeared in the Haven: City of Violence gaming line.
