Could the Pathfinder RPG do PVP like Destiny?

Something I always wanted to develop was Pathfinder Roleplaying Game​ PVP campaigns. I know that Conflict Games LLC​ had developed Conflict but I wanted to do like Destiny​ or Call of Duty​ with regular releases, cool weapons and equipment, unique areas and locations on a regular release schedule. Who would like to do that?

More cool ideas for Empire of Tears Pathfiner Kickstarter…

So I am thinking about rewards for our upcoming Empire of Tears Kickstarter, and I know I want to do some add-on 8-page or even 16 page sidetrek adventures where you get to expand what we are planning. I think we could do about 4 to 6 of them that would tie into the adventure saga itself and introduce more cool stuff to this setting.  Think of them as DLC (Downloadable Content) for video game series like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare or Dragon Age.  Plus it give me an opportunity to add so really cool ideas I have been kicking around like the Min Tarac Sal (AKA Chaotic thoughts made flesh/real) and the Gatherers (inspired from Mass Effect’s Collector soldiers). Unique monster types that you would not normally see in a fantasy setting.  Just some more thoughts that Christina Stiles is going to have to help develop with this kickstarter.

Could Table Top RPGs do something like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Elite?

If you don't know Call of Duty ELITE is the membership based subscription system where content is delivered directly to their members. Their site reads:  Premium Call of Duty ELITE members receive new content every month of the season for 9 months. Additionally, Call of Duty ELITE will run specialized events for real-world prizes to celebrate the release of each new drop.




While many have tried this in the way of DungeonADay.com and AdventueeAWeek.com, the only things that have had any real success are the Adventure Paths and Pathfinder Society from Paizo. But could a smaller company do something like this? Could a smaller company pull something like Pathfinder Society or RPGA off? At one point there was Living Spycraft and Living Arcanis but both have gone the way of the dinosaur. Once someone comes up with a system to do the "behind the scenes" stuff easily then maybe someone might do it. Who knows? Talk to you later...

Official Call of Duty ELITE Trailer and what you can learn to build your own Organized Play set up

JP and I talk a lot about how we see the future of NeoExodus and how we would build a organized play into this setting. I always like to look at other industry and see how they are doing something that we can and tot he table top RPG experience. This trailer for Call of Duty Elite is a great way to look how you could do the marketing on an organized play set up. This is a great trailer not just because it is funny, but it gets you excited about playing the game bet yet they tell you WHY you should join and give them $50 to join up with them. More stolen good ideas from the video game industry to use for table top RPG companies...

Here are some videos of DLC (Downloadable Content if you didn't know) for various video games that would work well for tabletop RPG companies to think about doing as marketing add-ons for their big ticket items like a setting projects.  We have done this with the Psionic Cavian race release and Races of Obsidian Twilight: Uzamati for example. Small little cool items that we planned to release witht he original prodct but not may have fit that make a great add-on. Marketing and selling strategies I like Mass Effect Pre-Ordering

Here is something that might surprise you to know, I don’t have a video game system to play video games on. I don’t even have any games on my home personal computer. Not Skyrim. No KOTOR. No Splinter Cell. Nothing. But anyone who knows me that I spend A LOT of time watching video game trailers. I LOVE game trailers and the business strategies that companies use to get you interested in their products. One of my favorite video game series to watch is Mass Effect. They know how to make a trailer. Something else they know how to make is a cross over marketing strategy for two products for example The Mass Effect / Dragon Age cross over marketing:



Better yet, I love when the do the Pre-order special with Gamestop like these:








So after looking at all these video I am thinking, why aren’t RPG companies doing pre-order specials like these? Just something to think about. Talk to you later…
