Great reviews, No sales...
As someone involved in publishing, this is the one that always kind of irks me. You keep hearing about these great games, everyone loves them, they win all these awards and then a few months later, the company closes down or they never release a follow up product to this "new line" of RPG products. This seems to happen a LOT of places. The Oscars. The Emmys. The Harvey Awards. The Ennies. Things get great reviews, but not that many people have actually seen it. Hell even my personal favorite, The Wire
, falls under this. When the quality is high and the people should want to purchase or pay to see or do, they don't. Are the reviews wrong? Or even better, do reviews actually matter? Talk to you later...

Sex and gimmicks doesn't sell products, quality does...
See this great ad for the upcoming Nikita series. It does everything right, to not make this a successful series. Way too much sex appeal on the ad just is doing its best to cover up the flaws of the show. Yes she is sexy and the image is exotic and erotic, but it does not sell what the show is. In all my years of watching 24, I never saw Jack Bauer in a leather tight Speedo. Gimmicks are not need to sell quality. Just look at the HBO series The Wire to see that. This this the same lesson you should learn and follow when making your products. Get back to work. Talk to you later.

It is about the product, not the territory...
This litte scene from The Wire describe everything you need to understand when trying to deside what is more important: the territory or the product? You might want to start thinking like this for a while. Talk to you later...

Busy, busy, busy...Watching TV!
Well I just finished up watching season 6 of 24 and now I am off to watching the new Spike TV, drama (well it it is new to me) The Kill Point. Glad to see Spike TV is thinking about it future in the area of cable TV. With so many good "minor" networks with so many great show out there, this can only be helpful to gain more interest for them. Plus the show has four actors from The Wire on it, so I have to support it. After watch so much interesting stuff, I have been working on a few personal projects for Haven: Full Metal Zero. I am hoping to get these projects out by the end of the month. Just something nice to add to you D20 Modern espionage based games. Just wait it is coming. Talk to you later...
