Taking the leap into video production from graphic and web design...

After a long though process I decided to to purchase a GoPro​ Hero HD camera to do video production with. I have always loved video production but I have been limited due to cost and tech. Now that I am using a new Alienware​ Area 51 computer, Adobe Premiere Pro​ and have decided to jump into the arena of video production and editing. So if you are a fan of my Transparency Agenda videos I do, expect to see better quality video and better production quality. Now I have to find the roughly $250 I am going to need to get all this equipment.

Updating the LPJ Design Website - Part 1

So for some reason I have decided to rebuild the LPJ Design website. The reason I am doing this is to test out my newly acquired skills while use the program, Adobe Muse.  I have found Muse to be a excellent way to develop visually beautiful websites without have to do all the silly coding that takes away from the design aspect of web design.  Many things that would have taken “much longer” have been easily created as widgets saving time and keeping creativity to a high. While this new website process is on-going, feel free to take a look at the changes I will be implementing and comment on them. Good, bad or otherwise.  And don’t be afraid to tell me that we did something that sucked. We want to know when we have done something wrong to.

$1,399 + $578 = $70,000...It's the new math...

Well I have decided in 2010 with a baby on the way, I might want to focus on advancing my skills to help me make money. So first off I am going to purchase Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium for $1,399. Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium combines Adobe InDesign® CS4, Photoshop® CS4 Extended, Illustrator® CS4, Flash® CS4 Professional, Dreamweaver® CS4, Fireworks® CS4, and Acrobat® 9 Pro with additional tools and services. I am currently using the original Adobe Creative Suite 1 (circa September 2003) so you can see I need a bit of an upgrade. Since I am and doing this upgrade I am also going to take classes in PHP and MySQL for $578 at a local college. I have a lot of experience in basic HTML based websites but I really need to step up my skills. With nearly 20 years of graphic design skill, I can make a lot of cool things graphically but I really don’t understand the whole “back end” development of databases for websites. So with these classes, I will be a front end and a back end web developer / designer. So that should increase my pay rate to the $70,000 a year, which I will like very much. Adobe Creative Suite 4 announced!

GOOD NEWS!!!! Looks like Adobe Creative Suite 4 looks amazing. Got to get this upgrade. I think the line between print and video becomes even more blurred with these progams. I think there will be a lot more "enhanced" PDFs being made now. Add Flash based video with compete sound effects to your PDF adventures. I can't wait to get it. Talk to you later...
