Our friends at Go Make Me A Sandwich don't seem to like our artwork...

With a title like "Hey, game devs. Knock it off with the corpse tits!" you know this is only going to be a quality rant against LPJ Design. So I just found out about this yesterday from Go Make Me A Sandwich and I have to say, I like the artwork.  I don't understand her issue with my artwork, but art is subjective. Some people love it, some people hate it. I am OK with that. Personally, I think she has a specific way she thinks the world she be and if it goes against her views or concepts it is sexist. This is the SAME tactic people use with the infamous "pulling race card". So using this same tactic against me is silly, because I know it is bullshit.

Instead of saying and criticizing the creative work that is being done, why don't you just do what you like see and sell it. That is what I did. I didn't think there were enough "minority" game developers in table top game industry, so I started my company and did games that I thought other would like to see.  Nearly 15 years later, we are going strong.  For real change to happen, I HAVE TO ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING and not just complain about it. So stop pulling the bullshit Slacktivism card, and actually DO SOMETHING! I don't hate women, but I do hate bullshit, and I am calling you on YOUR BULLSHIT. Talk to you later...

T minus 28 Days until the start of the Cross of Fire Saga Adventure Path Kickstarter for Pathfinder

The time is ticking down for the start of this all new and exciting kickstarter, the Cross of Fire Saga Adventure Path for Pathfinder Role Playing Game. To start you off on the right foot, we are going to talk about the first adventure in the Cross of Fire Saga Adventure Path written by LPJ Design very own Jeff Lee

PART 0: LONG WAY HOME
Hurled Into Endless Night

Seeking potent magic in the hands of an insane entity, accomplished adventurers find themselves transported to the bleak wasteland of Abaddon. As they explore their new surroundings, they must encounter a host of new terrors and determine whether to save a desperate caravan of nomads. Can adventurers save them, and can their weary new allies help them find a reliable way home?

The Long Way Home is an adventure for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. The story and encounters are the first episode of the Cross of Fire Saga Adventure Path, but can also be played as a standalone adventure with light modification. The module includes a brief history of the Cross of Fire, an introduction to the world of Abaddon, and a powerful new curse. Characters should take up the adventure approximately halfway through 8th level. If they survive their first nights on Abaddon, they should reach 9th level by the adventure’s conclusion.

As you can see this will be a great starting point for you to understand the world of Abaddon and the Obsidian Apocalypse campaign setting in general. Fans of Pathfinder and the horror genre in general will find the Cross of Fire Saga Adventure Path not only to be fun and exciting it will be revolutionary to what they are normally use to see. Talk to you later…

The image that made me want to create Pirates of the Bronze Sky...

This image describes it all. You do have to think about it. You understand what is going on with one simple piece of artwork. And with that image, Pirates of Bronze Sky was born.  Now I have to finish it some day.  Talk to you later...

Paizo VS Dreamscarred Press – Who will rule psionics / psychic magic?

This weekend during Gen Con I was informed by the folks over at Know Direction facebook page, that Paizo will be doing a product called Occult Adventures which will have in it (drum roll please!) Psychic Magic!!! As they said in the post: One of the phrases used was “Less Professor X, More Penny Dreadful.” The first thing I thought about it was, Is Paizo going after Dreamscarred Press market? Is Dreamscarred Press about to be on the wrong side of a war with Paizo? Will one system for psionics rule Pathfinder? These questions just get bigger and bigger!!!

Now maybe with other companies this might have meant the death knell for Dreamscarred Press, but I have heard from a VERY GOOD source that they folks over at Paizo came over and talked to the people at Dreamscarred Press about what was going on with their psychic magic. Better still it looks like Paizo psychic magic will fall in line with an arcane and divine magic built system. So now it looks like there will be TWO completely different, completely supported psionic / psychic magic based systems available for those who like psionics. If you like how psionic has worked from 3.5 to Pathfinder you have Dreamscarred Press; if you wish you could have psychic magic work like traditional magic, you have Paizo.  Maybe some other will do a mash up of both. Get it the way YOU want to use it and that sounds like a good idea to me.  So there is no Paizo VS Dreamscarred Press. Better still for fans who have been supporting psionics, this give you the opportunity to add even more psychic magic content to your already done psionic material. For example, we will be doing an update with the OGL psychic magic material for our NeoExodus Chronicles: Psionic Cavian ---. I mean who doesn’t like MORE content?

Once again, Paizo shows why they are beloved by their fan base and the 3PP want to work with them.  That make it easy AND worth it to work with them. Talk to you later…

I’ve been quiet. TOO quite…

I have been behind the scenes working on a few things that we will be showing off soon for you to enjoy. But, while this is going on I keep going back to a CRAZY idea that keeps popping back in my head.  Simply put, this is what I keep thinking: I (We) should do DC Comics’ Crisis on Infinite Earth as an Adventure Path viakickstarter for Pathfinder with a joint co-operation with various 3PP.  Now many of you are laughing at me right now. You are like, “You can’t do Crisis. It’s is impossible.” First I don’t believe in impossible. I am sorry, but there is no such animal as impossible.  All that success needs to make thing happen is: will and sweat. It just amazes me that DC and Marvel Comics have done SO MANY comic series that would work as Adventure Paths: Civil War, Dark Phoenix Saga, DarkestNight, Infinite Crisis, Siege, X-tinction Agenda, plus MANY more. No need to remake the wheel here. I am going to get this worked out SOMEHOW. And then I am going to do Crisis for Pathfinder and people will love it. Those of you who are still telling me it is impossible and I can do it: Thanks!  I need a lot of fuel for this fire. Talk to you later…
