In Defiance of Sorcery - the low-magic/no-magic campaign toolkit for Pathfinder by Clinton Boomer coming soon

It all started with a little post by Clinton Boomer on his blog and with that a new product for LPJ Design was born. In Defiance of Sorcery: the low-magic/no-magic campaign toolkit for Pathfinder will let players play in the realm of literary traditions of sword-and-sorcery with this amazing toolkit. Even fans of the upcoming Primeval Thule Campaign Setting Kickstarter and their Primeval Thule Traveler's Guide will want to pick this up and add to their low-magic/no-magic campaigns. These striking stories and images of clashing action are the blood, muscles and bones of the In Defiance of Sorcery, it’s low fantasy the way it was meant to be played. Etched in your mind illustrations of artists such as Roy Krenkel and Frank Frazetta; and influenced by classic pulp fantasy stories such as Edgar Rice Burrough’s tales of savage worlds, Robert E. Howard’s Conan stories, and even H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos. In Defiance of Sorcery will bring this all to life. Expect to see In Defiance of Sorcery by late August / early September. Talk to you later...

Cross of Fire Saga - The face of Cassandra Papacis

Who is Cassandra Papacis and what does have to do with the Cross of Fire Saga Adventure Path? I guess you will have to ask her that when you meet her. I would like to thank Paizo and Pathfinder fan and friend, Elizabeth Jo Miller,  for allowing LPJ Design to use her face as the inspiration of Cassandra Papacis. The Cross of Fire Saga Adventure Path is going to be SO awesome!!!!!! Talk to you later...

Trying something different with ads AKA Hello Canada!

I am trying something different. Over at our Facebook page I am attempting to promote our page to reach 500 likes. We are very close to hitting that number so I wanted to find ways help move us along to that, so I decided to promote my page on Facebook. Not really that big of a deal. I have done this before and it has worked out OK, BUT this time I did something VERY different for me. I only am promoting our LPJ Design Facebook page in Canada. That is right. I did say it. CANADA!!!!! Why? I feel there are a fair number of Pathfinder gamers in Canada who have not been “exposed” to the awesomeness of LPJ Design. So now I am attempting to see if we can give our brothers and sisters from the area of the maple leaf some LPJ Design love. If you are in Canada, play Pathfinder and have not liked us on Facebook, NOW IS THE TIME!!!! So while I am waiting to all you fans to like us, I hope you will be sending me a care package with All Dressed Potato chips and some Tim Horton’s coffee and donuts. O Canada! Talk to you later…

Cross of Fire Saga Update – Working on the Outline for the Adventures

So after talking with [REDACTED] about Cross of Fire Saga, I sat down and started creating a Visual and content online for the project manager and writer for this project. Not only will it have a description of the adventure but there will be tons of artwork of the individual involved. I really like this and I think I will be doing this more often when doing either adventure path adventures or large sized kickstarters like this one. I hope to show some sample pages of it when I complete it so you can get a little behind the scenes in to what it is to work on a project at this size and level. Talk to you later…

The NeoExodus Upgrade and Pricing

By now, I am sure many of you are familiar with the updates that I am making to the NeoExodus: A House Divided Campaign Setting. With that, I am sure many of you who have bought the campaign book were happy to hear that we are doing an update. But at the same time, I am sure many of you didn’t want to have to buy a whole new book from something you just bought and I understand and feel for you. And with that I have come up with this plan.

First, this new update (which I keep calling the Ultimate Edition) all people who purchased the PDF version from DriveThruRPG.com, RPGNow.com, Paizo.com or D20PFSRD.com as a PDF, we will be updating your original PDF version with the new Ultimate Edition FOR FREE. As long as you have OR do purchase the NeoExodus: A House Divided Campaign Setting, by the time we release the Ultimate Edition, you will get the update for free. The NeoExodus: A House Divided Campaign Setting PDF book will be updated with the Ultimate Edition PDF online so all you will have to do is download the new version.

Second, the Print-On-Demand versions will be updated with new Ultimate Edition Print-On-Demand version in both black and white AND full color.  What the price of this books will be is currently not known but we hope to keep the price as low as possible and reasonable for you the consumer.

Third, we are adding more additional content and artwork to this new Ultimate Edition. I am “guesstimating” that we will be adding between 15 to 30% additional content compared to the original version. Anything we are adding are not about “destroying” work we have we already done. For example, we are adding alternative racial traits for all of the races. We are not changing their stated standard racial traits so those who have PCs made that don’t really miss out on anything but now they have more options for the future.

So if you are a NeoExodus fan or even interested, join ourFacebook page and see all the new and interesting add-ons, the new artwork and layout we are doing with this Ultimate Edition.  As always, thanks for the support. Talk to you later…

NeoExodus Layout Update part 2

OK NeoExodus fans, here are the changes I made to the history section of the updated NeoExodus: A House Divided Campaign Setting. Something that JP always tried to instill on me was the importance of the iconics. I agreed it was a good idea so we created them. And with that I deiced int he new version they would get a more visual importance so we added their images. What do you think Paizo fans?

NeoExodus Layout Update

Here is the updated layout for the NeoExodus: A House Divided Campaign Setting. As you can see we are adding a head shot to the racial trait boxes. This is something we did in Obsidian Apocalypse and I really like how is came out. What do you think?

Cross of Fire Saga – The adventure BEFORE the adventure…

I originally conceived Cross of Fire as a 4-part adventure path, but as I continued working and developing on it I noticed that I need to add an additional adventure at the end to of the adventure path to [REDACTED]. But then I kept thinking about how to start this adventure path, since really most people accidently wind up in the Obsidian Apocalypse setting. So with that, we needed a side trek / mini-adventure to make it easier for them to transition to the setting and give them a taste of the setting. And out of that can the adventure path side trek / pre-adventure, “Long Way Home”. I created an light outline for them for the writers and editors to see where I am planning to go, but it is still lose enough for the writer to add their own flair to the adventure.

Long Way Home: Level 8 – 9
  1.  PCs arrive in the Obsidian Apocalypse setting and battle a [REDACTED] and save [REDACTED]
  2.   Recover and get info about Obsidian Apocalypse setting from [REDACTED]
  3.  [REDACTED] attack the PCs and a [REDACTED] happens.
  4.  [REDACTED] [REDACTED] themselves and attack
While it doesn’t make complete sense due to all the [REDACTED] comments, you can see there is an actual plan of what we want to do. At least this far.  Talk to you later…

My secret love affair with Pintrest…

For some reason, many people don’t know about my love affair with Pintrest. I LOVE Pintrest. It is the best site for any publisher looking to improve the look of their product and get GREAT design ideas. I mean, this sight is made for those people who are visually snobs like me.  Just search the term "Pathfinder" and you will get tons of the covers that the folks of Paizo have done from the mock-up covers to the final released versions. Just search "comic book covers" and you will get a LOT of ideas of how exciting a cover should be. I mean just look at Uncanny X-Men 141. It is one of the most iconic covers in the history of comics. Why? Just look at it and there is your answer.   So if you want to get inspired do yourself a favor and join Pintrest and even checkout my page. You will be glad you did. Talk to you later…
