Monster Idea Workshop -- Development Stage

Working on a monster idea for NeoExodus: A House Divided based off doing a gestalt (Think DC Comics hero Firestorm) -- two unique monsters become one completely different and unique monster.  I am using the classic Dungeon and Dragons monster, Slaad, as inspiration and the role this monster would play. What do you think and what would you like to see in this monster? Talk to you later...

Is LPJ Design Authentic?

Sounds like a silly question right? But is it really that silly or that simple to answer? I believe I am authentic. But what does that mean. Does it mean that LPJ Design is authentic with it relationship with our customers? How about with the games we design? How about the kickstarter projects we do? How about the things that influence us like films, books, animation, cartoons, comic books and whatever? What makes us authentic at LPJ Design is you know when we are being authentic and when we are faking it. Here is a full list of the product lines when have done:

The first taste of the all new Grand Theft Exodus webcomic

Since I received the first four panels for the upcoming Grand Theft Exodus webcomic I thought I might show it to you. But then I thought, if I showed them to you now, why would you come to the new website for it?  So I found a way to make us both happy.
It doesn't give you a ton of info, but you know SOMETHING is there.  I still need to work on the lettering and getting that together, but so far I am VERY happy and what I have seen.  Now we just have to keep the moment up for the big actual release. When will that be? When we are ready to make sure this will be the success that we expect it to be. Talk to you later...

Always looking for a new artist…

One of the hardest things that I do OVER and OVER is look for new artists.  The reason isn’t that I keep losing artists, it is there are so many new artist to are coming on the new and showing off what they do, with many of them outside of the US and North America. With such a worldwide market of artists I get to see so many interesting styles and techniques which I can use to help inspire my own artwork on my project. So always take a second or two and look for new artists. It’s a great way to add cool ideas to what you are doing.  Talk to you later…

Coming this week - Treasures of NeoExodus: Malice Blade

The Janissaries are part knight, part monk, and part sorcerer. With their unparalleled powers over the mind and blade alike it is no wonder that they would produce powerful and exotic weaponry best suited for their unique form of combat and philosophy. Perhaps one of the most bizarre weapons crafted by the Janissaries warriors was a red crystal blade forged from purest emotional anger and hate known as the Malice Blade.

Moving in many directions at the same time…

Right now I feel that I am busier than ever. I have to start writing work on the Obsidian Apocalypse project and keep everything moving along in the realm of NeoExodus Legacies, plus I am focusing on the upcoming NeoExodus webcomic, Grand Theft Exodus. I have to still talk to people about starting our independent fiction publishing line tentatively called Hard Ink and getting that off the ground. In addition, start working on the development of the new free adventure for Dreamscarred Press’ Kickstarter and start planning our next kickstarter project for Spring of 2013 for Free RPG Day. I am a busy publisher. Sometime I feel that I am TOO busy with so many projects but I am glad to be working with such organized people that help me do what I need to do much easier.  This is the part of business that I really enjoy, the chaos of it all.  But the long term payoff is something that will be MORE than worth it, and for that I am very happy. So let me get back to work for me. Thanks for giving me a moment to vent and get my feeling out.  Talk to you later…

[LPJ Design] Treasures of NeoExodus: Judgment Seeker Now available

Louis Porter Jr. Design has released its newest product for their Treasures of NeoExodus line, Judgment Seeker for the NeoExodus: A House Divided (PFRPG) campaign setting at RPGNow.com and DriveThruRPG.com.  Here is information on this product:

In 540 BU Emperor Vincent’s persecution of the pagans was in full swing, and those who were still brave enough to live in the Caneus Empire and continue their worship chose to go underground. The clergy used any mean at their disposal to root out the pagans and locate those within the Covenant helping them to hide or fight back. To this end they created a number of powerful spears much like the fabled holy avengers. Called judgment seekers, these spears have become a symbol of Dhazvok’s unrelented hatred of heretics, for good or for ill.

The Treasures of NeoExodus: Judgment Seeker is created for use with your NeoExodus: A House Divided campaign setting home gaming for the Pathfinder RPG. The Treasures of NeoExodus series focus on creating unique and interesting magical and mundane items that you can use in your NeoExodus home games that give you more a personal connection to the item. This PDF comes with a background and history of the Judgment Seeker, its special mundane and/or magical qualities plus magic item containing detailed information and blank versions of the cards. Everything you need to incorporate Judgment Seeker into your character’s background and your gaming sessions is here making them even more appealing, special and personal.  Available at RPGNow!

Usual Suspects rough layout test

As some of you may or may not know, that I have been working on a new layout for the full NeoExodus product line. This was a request that was made by our creative director JP, to make the products easier for GMs to read. The biggest issue that kept coming up was the stat block. So after several attempts, I have come up with something I am happy with that works well on the plain background (like in this image) or on out new upcoming (but unseen so far) background.  So take a look at this rough layout and you will get a glimpse of what the future of NeoExodus is going to look like. Talk to you later...

Rough Draft for NPC book for NeoExodus is now in!

This morning I received a very nice surprise in the way of the rough draft of the upcoming NPC book for NeoExodus which we have been calling Usual Suspects in my email box. This is one of those books that I knew as a game publishing company we had to do. The reason being, just about everyone I knows hates have to do stat blocks especially complex stat blocks. This book takes that problem away from you.  Since NeoExodus is a new gaming setting with new unique races and classes, many of the character are very unique and different from your standard Pathifinder classes and races.  Making up stat blocks for NPCs take time and effort and we don't what you to waste your time doing that when you could be gaming.  So this book will be the answer for so many GMs who are interested in playing NeoExodus but need to make NPCs for their game.  Now we just have to check through these stat blocks and make sure everything OK, then to layout and finally on sale.  Talk to you later...

[LPJ Design] Treasures of NeoExodus: Ichor Sting Now available

Louis Porter Jr. Design has released its newest product for their Treasures of NeoExodus line, Ichor Sting for the NeoExodus: A House Divided (PFRPG) campaign setting at RPGNow.com and DriveThruRPG.com. Here is information on this product:

At the dawn of humanity, when the First Ones were fighting their apocalyptic war with the Kaga, among their allies was a sorceress of incredible anger and fury; even among the mighty First Ones she was among the most terrible to behold. Her name is long lost to the deterioration and mercies of time. Yet her legacy and her hatred live on. Only a few scholars know that after a long and hard siege of her fortress, a handful of heroes faced her earthtrembling power in her own throne room. They were determined to end her existence and free Exodus from her wrath for all time. She would not of course go easily into oblivion.
