4 Days Left: New Donor and Benchmark Thresholds and Reward Add-ons

The end is near as they say. We have been running this Obsidian Apocalypse kickstarter for over a month and soon it will be nothing put a pleasant memory. With less than 100 hours left I am still pushing for the goal of $20K and with that we have added new Donor and Benchmark Threshold s and Reward Add-ons to keep you who have already donated interested in this kickstarter, and to push those who have been on the fence about it.

For those interested in the full color version of Obsidian Apocalypse the only way you will be able to get it is during this kickstarter. We are not making extras to sell in store or even sell at the LPJ Design website POD Store, so don’t expect to see them there. You might do a little better with the B&W version, but if your local store didn’t order it, most likely they will not be getting a copy. Obsidian Apocalypse is a special gift for the fans of LPJ Design and Pathfinder RPG. We want the right people to support this kickstarter. We want you who love Pathfinder, survival horror, zombies, undead, post-apocalypses, Dark Sun and Ravenloft to support us on this kisckstarter. As I have said it many times with NeoExodus being my love letter to Babylon 5; this is my love letter to the original Dark Sun and Ravenloft campaign setting from TSR. So go out and tell all the gamers you know that this kickstarter is coming to the end and now is the time to donate. Don’t be one of these that said I WISH I would have supported it. As always, thanks for your support on this project. Click here to make this project a success and be part of it!

[NeoExodus Legacies] Interested in trying it out? Then go to these cons...

JP wrote a blog post on "Where to play NeoExodus" at several interesting gaming cons.  So if you have been interested in NeoExodus and live by or plan to go by any of these cons, go and check us out. It will be good for you!  Talk to you later...

6 Days left: There is nothing more important than your name…

So we added a new little add-on that name of you will be interested in. For an addition +$20 and Ghast ($35) or higher, we will name a spell after your character, in the same fashion as the spells named after the historical spell casters. There is no better way to immortalize your character then to have a spell that PC will use named after them. So if you every wanted a spell named after your PC, then this is the add-on to have to donate to. As always thank you for your support in this kickstarter!

8 Days to go: Did you know there is a monster contest going on WITH the Obsidian Apocalypse kickstarter

For some reason people keep missing that we have a Bestiary of Armageddon Contest going on in conjunction with the Obsidian Apocalypse kickstarter. We want to give you MORE monsters but for some reason you have not told your friends to submit a monster to us. Think about it, you could get your monster published in the same book Richard Pett, Owen KC Stephens and JP Chapleau and that would make you a PROFESSIONAL WRITER!!! So if you want to submit a monster and take your chance at success then I say go for it! But remember you only have 8 days to submit a monst and donate to the Obsidian Apocalypse kickstarter. Click here to submit a donation!

9 Days to go: JP Chapleau is joining Obsidian Apocalypse!!!

Some people just can’t take “No” for an answer and JP is one of those people.

About a month ago while working on NeoExodus in general and getting everything ready on several project that we are working on there, he told me that he want to work on Obsidian Apocalypse and I said no. The reason being is that I didn’t want to burn him out on so many different projects going on at the same time. But JP did care and every opportunity he had he kept bring it up that he wanted to work on Obsidian Apocalypse. Now after 25 days of him doing this, I have finally decided maybe I should bring him on. I mean let’s be honest he knows Pathfinder rules backwards and forwards, was a Venture Captain for Pathfinder Society and he has done great work for me. So looking at it now, it seems silly to keep him off a project he wants so badly on. So let’s take a second and thank JP for joining up with this fantastic project. I know you are only going to bring excellence to this. As always, thanks for your support on this kickstarter! Click here to support us!

10 Days Left: Only $12,419 away from our premiere goal…

While trying to raise $12,419 in only 10 days sounds like a crazy idea, the folks over at Reaper’s Bones Kickstarter proved something like that is very possible to do. So since I know we can do this, for the next 10 days I am going to do everything I can to help us reach this goal. I want this to be an amazing one in a lifetime gaming sourcebook and this will only happen if we can reach the magic number of $20,000 in donations. So we need your help to make this happen too. Go out and tell every gamer you know what we are doing. Reaper is a multimillion dollar company with a 20+ year history, so them being successful at kickstarter is NOT really that much of a surprise. LPJ Design is a small independent third party gaming publisher, but even with all that we are still going to make this kickstarter a success. As always, thanks for your support on this kickstarter! Simple question...

Out of #1, #2 or #3 which design do you like the best. I am just judging the design and you can not combine them together. Just pick one.  Thanks!

We just reached our $7,500 goal. Next $8,500 and the world poster…

With 11 days left, we move to our next threshold goal of $8,500 and with a poster sized map of the world of Obsidian Apocalypse, Abaddon. As you can already see if you have donated at the $50 Wight level you are going to be receiving a lot of goodies with this kickstarter. Best of all there are still MORE hidden goals added so expect to see more cool stuff on this kickstarter. As always thanks for the support! Talk to you later...

For all the female fans of Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, We at Louis Porter Jr. Design we need your help...

I have made a conscious decision to get more people interested in NeoExodus and specifically getting more women who play Pathfinder RPG playing in the NeoExodus setting. For me this isn’t just lip service or some silly promotion to draw interest, this about NeoExodus being open to all and getting past the typical fantasy tropes that have existed since the beginning of time. I may have been, subconsciously, doing this since the creation of the setting of having four of the five major empires run by women and the BBEG from the Khaynites, Widowmaker Scarlet, being a woman but this is something I think will be good for us a company. Amber Scott was nice to work with us on the creation of the Annihilation Sphere and tying it into the background of our terrorist organization, the Folding Circle. I think fantasy RPG games and industry in general can be a bit of an old boy’s network often forgetting that not every woman playing the game doesn’t want to be the “healer” of the group, while the “boys” do all the action.

With this, LPJ Design is going to focus on not just recruiting new women as writers, editors and artists but to promote them to other 3PP and help make their dreams of working in the gaming industry come true. The more different representations you can have in an industry only helps expends the industry. Talk to you later...

With 15 Days Left, we’re only 20 donors a day away from our goal!

Based on our current standings, we are looking to add 20 donors a day for this kickstarter. We currently are adding 4 donors a day on average. That is right; we are looking to increase our donor rate by a multiple of five. Best of all, and I know many of you will think this sounds crazy, but I know we are going to reach that number of donors. The reason why I know? It is simple. People want fun Pathfinder RPG settings to play in. There are TONS of kickstarter Pathfinder adventures attempting for funding and people have supported them, but there are only a few campaign getting for Pathfinder (NeoExodus being one of the best). Obsidian Apocalypse is a sequel/update to an ALREADY successful Pathfinder campaign setting.

The only problem with an adventure is that they are built with an ending already in mind. Slay the dragon. Steal the treasure. Save the princess. Whatever it is, there is going to be an ending. Obsidian Apocalypse is built to be played and keep growing for as long as you want it to. Why support adventures that you play one and never see or play again OR a campaign that you can play for years even decades that is always different and changing? With some of the high cost companies and people place on kickstarter donations, which one sounds like the best deal for you and your money? Thanks for the support and tell your friends of the great stuff we are doing here. Click here to go and become a donor.

It’s simple, $18k = Wayne Reynolds Cover for Obsidian Apocalypse

We just revealed one of the hidden goals that we have beenplanning for since we started this kickstarter; an exclusive Wayne Reynoldscover for Obsidian Apocalypse when we raise $18K. Now you see why the $20K that we are going to reach doesn’t sound that crazy now. If you know people that have NOT donated and keep asking where to find new cool Pathfinder product, contact them and tell them what we are doing. Time is running out and we have miracles to perform.  Fortune favors the bold. Donate for this kickstarter here! Talk to you later...

We are at the halfway point and I want to do something amazing...

Since we are at the halfway point in this kickstarter, I want to tell you a little secret. I am VERY glad and thankful that we have been able to reach over $6k, but I have to say that I want this to be BIGGER.  I don’t want this kickstarter to reach $10K, I want to reach $20K.  The reason I want to reach this amount is simple: I want to make a Pathfinder product that players and fans will be talking about for years. I want this product to be LPJ Design’s Tomb of Horrors. The one you can’t forget. I want people to talk about this product and get a little smile in the corner of their mouth remember how their PC was killed and how amazing it was when it happened. I want to do AMAZING things with this kickstarter and with only 21 days left, this is an amazing crazy goal to reach for.  I mean, I raised the money I asked for, should that make me happy enough? It should, if this was just something typical and easy and it isn’t. LPJ Design wants to do what is daring. Telling you that we are going to raise $20K when you are $14K away from that amount is more than just cocky, egotistical and arrogant; I hubris in the basic definition. But to me it doesn’t matter, because we are going to raise that $20K, so we can blow your mind with the quality of this project. Go tell everyone you know that LPJ Design is doing something cocky, egotistical and arrogant for Pathfinder RPG fans and ask them if they want to be a part of it.  Better yet, ask them why they wouldn’t want to be part of it? Fortune favors the bold. Thanks for your support and interest.

The real difference between the $25, $35 and $50 Obsidian Apocalypse Kickstarter donation…

The real two questions to me about the Obsidian ApocalypseKickstarter is, “Do you want a physical copy or not?” and “Do you want a color copy or not?”  That really determines it all for me. At $25 donation, you already get the PDF. But if you spend just $10 you get the physical B&W softcover version. Now this version will cost AT LEAST $20 if you purchase it through a retail store, but you can get it here of only $10. So now you have to ask yourself do you want to pay 50% for a book? If money is not an issue, then you should purchase the physical B&W softcover version from your local store and stick with your $25 donation. But if you can afford $10 more I would get the physical B&W softcover version. Not a bad deal for $10

Now the $50 donation, gives you not only a physical B&W softcover version, but you get a limited edition (meaning it will not sell in ANY retail locations including online) full color softcover version. The color version is for those, with a little extra money and need something very special and unique to remember this kickstarter. While it might not be for everyone, it will be nice to know that you will have two version of the Obsidian Apocalypse book (one for play and one to collect). If you are a collector of RPGs I would suggest the $50, if you are looking for a cool campaign setting to play over and over with and would like to save a little money, then I would suggest $35 donation.
The bottom line for us at LPJ Design is to provide you with the best experience when using our products no matter which one you get. Talk to you later…

Here are the rewards we have reached so far with our Kickstarter...

With less than 25 days left in our kickstarter, we though it might be best to remind you what project goals we have achieved and are going to be giving away at the current level of success with this kickstarter. I am hoping we can go higher, because we have additional things that we would like to add to this kickstarter. But even still I am very impressed on what we have done so far.  It is hard enough to hit your asking for amount and even harder still to surpass it.  So come to our kickstarter and donate. You will be glad that you did. Talk to you later...

We hit $6,000. Now on to $7,500 and 115 donors!

We are cruising along at a solid speed picking up new donors and surpassing our original goals and this makes me feel good. Thank you to so many of you that have supported us to this point. I am glad to see so many people excited about Obsidian Apocalypse as I am. With our next donor threshold of 115 we are doing an Action & Plot Deck: Obsidian Apocalypse, our version of GameMastery Plot Twist Cards from Paizo, so you can only guess what kinds of crazy and exciting twists this is going to add to your game. In addition, when we reach $7,500 we will add four Iconic characters to the Obsidian Apocalypse setting. This is another great goal for donors for a great project. Plus we STILL have another hidden goal that we will reveal when we hit $7,500. All this going on and we have 24 days to go! So keep going out there and telling people of all the great stuff going on with this kickstarter. Thank you for your support and plus help us reach our next goals! Talk to you later...

So tell everyone you know who is playing Pathfinder and loved playing Ravenloft and Dark Sun campaign setting, this is the kickstarter that they have to support. Talk to you later…

WE DID IT! We made our $5,000 goal at Kickstarter!!!!

First of all, a hearty THANK YOU to everyone who has pledged so far. We at LPJ Design love and are very thankful for our backers. The level of passion and enthusiasm that you're showing really makes us feel that this has been MORE that worth the creation and development of this project. We've been developing Obsidian Apocalypse & Obsidian Twilight for several years now and seeing the response we've gone live has really been an amazing experience.

Now that we've reached the $5,000 successfully funded level at Kickstarter, now we can focus on our many higher and more daring threshold goals, since we still have nearly 30 days left on this kickstarter. If you look down to our Benchmark Threshold Goals we still have several benchmarks at $5,500 thru $10,000 and two more additional hidden goals planned. So don’t think this is over, it is just the beginning as we bring you MORE AND MORE excitement with kickstarter. So once again I will say, thank you all that have supported us to this point and the many more that will be supporting us in the future.

Doing some social good with Kickstarter!

Since it looks like we should be hitting our goal of $5,000 for this kickstarter very soon, we at LPJ Design have added 3 more Benchmark Threshold Goals with two of them being focused on socially responsible goals. While when we reach $8,500 we will be providing a poster sized map of Abaddon for donor lever wight and up.

At the $7,500 and the $10,000 levels when we reach them will be donations that LPJ Design will make to the American Red Cross; an organization I have been supporting for over 10 years; in the way of $750 or $1,000 donations when we hit those goals.  When we originally released Obsidian Twilight we gave away free PDF copies to those who donated blood, so this time I wanted to do something a little more direct and something that actual can save a life. So once again thank you to everyone who has supported us so far.
