Crazy adventure ideas in my head...

So I was thinking about mash-up ideas for adventures for Pathfinder RPG by Paizo and this came to mind: It's Wall Street meets High Plains Drifter. Does that sound as crazy as I think it does? Talk to you later...

NeoExodus: A House Divided Campaign Setting is completed!

After nearly a year worth of work, NeoExodus: A House Divided Campaign Setting is complete.

It sounds so simple when you hear it like that.  It doesn't tell you all the late night skype calls between myself and JP Chapleau on what we wanted to see in this book. It doesn't tell you what we didn't think was necessary, at least not yet,  for releasing this product.  It doesn't show the disagreements that we had and even a few issues that we just didn't want to deal with.  But this book is a culmination of great work from a lot of impressive writers (Neal Bailey, Thomas Baumbach, Joshua Cole, Richard Farrese, Lee Hammock and Owen K.C. Stephens) who listened to a crazy idea that I had, help expand it to what you see right now.  I am so glad these people were willing to take a chance with me and create something you don't normally see in fantasy RPG campaign settings.  Doing NeoExodus has been my greatest accomplishment in the field of RPGs and I only hope to expand this "little world" so more people may become involved with it.  Thank you all for supporting us.

Expect to see the NeoExodus: A House Divided Campaign Setting PDF version available for sale by this weekend, and maybe even earlier, at RPGNow.com or Paizo.com. You can still pre-order the NeoExodus: A House Divided Campaign Setting print version book directly at Paizo.com that we expect to see on the retail shelves by February 2012.  Thanks to everyone who helped me make my dreams come true.  Talk to you later...

Countdown to NeoExodus: 7 Days...Cover Issue OR Cover Opportunity...

After nearly wait a month we just got the completed artwork for the cover.  We have been working from sketches of the artwork (which consisted of three characters on the front) to get a placement of where everything would be going, but today we got all the artwork in house and we noticed on little thing....

...With the three characters in color, the NeoExodus logo, Blue background stripe and little company icons on the front, it was WAY TOO CLUTTERED! I mean like a Nascar Race car covered in logos type of cluttered.  It was TOO much.  Way, WAY too much. So I had to take a step back and do what I thought would be best for this project. So I decided to go with only one character in the front of the cover, like we had done on all the other NeoExodus products. But then another little issue raised its head...

Which lone character would make the cover of the NeoExodus: A House Divided Campaign Book?

After looking at the character designs originally submitted, we finally got it down to two choices for the cover. But then the next issue happened.  We could not decide which cover was the best one to use. We went around and around since we liked them both, but in the end we reached a stalemate. Now since we love our fans of NeoExodus and we love to get input from them, we here at LPJ Design decided to asked them to help us decided on the cover for NeoExodus: A House Divided Campaign Book.

OK this will be very simple: Which cover to you want to see as our cover? Cover 1 or Cover 2? Places comments here or at our Facebook Page on the one you want us to use.  We will read them and they should help us choice the right one.  Once again thanks for you help with this! Talk to you later...

Cool Ideas for Xao: Island of Iron and Silk and how to get it made...

Yesterday I wrote this at Facebook:

So I am thinking about doing Xao: Island of Iron and Silk AGAIN as a special project sourcebook to go into NeoExodus. What will be the ”hook” for this one? I was thinking of focusing on the non-combat / role playing / highly political / covert spies sides of the setting. Lots of secrets, back alley deals, ”Cold War” -esqe ideas and playability. Less combat, lots more use of skill usage. Just a thought, so what do you think? This is for everyone to comment, BUT JP.

Then today I wrote this on Facebook:

So It looks like Xao: Island of Iron and Silk is moving along well in my head. I have found a way to tie it to the First Ones, create two new races (1 completely new, 1 an interesting variant/variation of a current NeoExodus: A House Divided race), add ship based combat, add Dreamscarred Press based psionics and include cool Chinese (NOT Japanese) influences concepts. This pet /side project might be perfect for a Pathfinder Roleplaying Game based Kickstarter project. Would you like to see this as a kickstarter project?

So what do you think, try it as a Kickstarter project? Maybe just a simple add on sourcebook we do? What would you like to see?  Talk to yo later...

Countdown to NeoExodus: 9 Days left...

Here is the final iconic character image (Nose-Cutter, Enuka Fighter)  to go on the NeoExodus: A House Divided cover.  These are just color test and not the actual color we will be using, but you get the idea.  Talk to you later...

Countdown to NeoExodus: 11 Days...The cover is almost done...

Here is a color rough sample of the two out of three iconics (Freja Ilyanovka,  a Human Arman Protectorate Gunslinger and Karissa, a P'Tan Rogue) that are going to appear on the cover. While the colors are not exactly right you can get an idea of what they cover will look like.  Now it is getting SO exciting.  Talk to you later...

Well with time ticking down tot he release of NeoExodus: A House Divided, I thought I might show you a little bit of what I get to work on behind the scenes.  I have been doing layout and graphic design for nearly 20 years  and I love to make books.  This part of the creative process I find not only relaxing but interesting also.  I call this the "icing on the cake" if you will.  So here is a quick glimpse on the finished version that will be available very soon.  Talk to you later...
