Electronic Sales to Bookstores and (RPG Stores) from Dean Wesley Smith

For some reason this got deleted so I am placing it up again.

Here is a great idea from Dean Wesley Smith: Electronic Sales to Bookstores. Better yet, this idea can be used for RPG publishers who want to get their PDF material to more customers.  I placed this up on my personal Facebook page and LPJ Design Facebook page, Friend and retailer Gary Ray from Black Diamond Games said "I would sell that," and with that I am already on the phone making calls to see what I need to make this happen. Also take a look at Enthrill eBook Distribution from some more ideas that you think you might be able to use.  Talk to you later...

[LPJ Design] Enemies of NeoExodus: First Ones (PFRPG) now available!

The Reign of NeoExodus for the Pathfinder RPG continues here!

Louis Porter Jr. Design has released Enemies of NeoExodus: First Ones (PFRPG)  for use with the upcoming neo-fantasy punk setting gaming line, NeoExodus: A House Divided.  Here is information on the Enemies of NeoExodus: First Ones (PFRPG):

Everything Here Is a Lie. Only fools trust anything the First Ones say, do or think. You have been warned. The First Ones - the name strikes terror into the heart of the people of Exodus. They are the bogeymen, formed of living shadow, that stalk the people. They control monsters and abominations that are loose upon the world. They snatch children and lone travelers. They torture men for their own pleasure and cavort with fiends to do their dark bidding. Those are but myths. The truth is far worse. “The First Ones” is the name given to a group of humanoid creatures who ruled Exodus before the Age of Man. Today, the First Ones include five races: the Aneishi, the Exodites, the Khaynites, the Kroca and the Kobura. In days past, each race served a specific purpose, but with the rise of the Kaga and the destruction of their empire, the First Ones remain roughly united by their desire to return to power and to once again relish in luxury while others toil for their pleasure and their comfort.

This supplement includes:

  • History of the First Ones
  • Using the First Ones and First One Enclaves
  • History and Races of the First Ones: Aneishi (CR 7), Exodite (CR 7), Khaynite (CR 8), Kobura Sobeka (CR 5) and Kroca Sobeka (CR 8)
  •  25 All New Feats including Arachnid Legs, Blood Drinker, Grotesque Spell, Magic Body, Masochistic Ecstasy and Touched by Evil.
  •  Two New Spells: Dispel Minions and Minion Mark
  • Relations with the other Empires and Secret Organizations and Famous First Ones
  • New Weapons, New Items, New Poisons and New Magic Items
  • Eight All New Monster including the highly dangerous Scythians and the living killing machines, the Locari.
  •  Two New Creature Types: First Ones and Locari subtypes
  •  Initiative and Monster Cards
  • NeoExodus: A House Divided Character Sheet
  • Combat & Initiative Tracker

This 49 page PDF is just the sort of thing needed for DMs to get started playing in the fantasy world of NeoExodus. Written by Joshua Cole with J.P. Chapleau, Benjamin Wenham and Louis Porter Jr. Available at RPGNow.com!

You want to know the names of the artists we used? Sorry that information is classified

I normally let people access to 95% of everything we do at LPJ Design.  The last 5% of stuff that we don't let people know is: 1) How much money we make (That is none of your business) and 2) The artists we use. Why do I keep our artist under wraps? It is obvious, we have GREAT artists working for us.  Now some of them you do know, Jason Walton, Storn Cook, Bradley K. McDevitt, and Anthony Cournoyer. But there are a lot more that you have seen their artwork but you don't know who they are.  And they do great work!!!!  I mean AMAZING work. Some even say as good as Paizo.  I have to agree since Paizo hired one of artist I used to work with them and two of my regular artist art trying to get freelance jobs with Paizo.  I know how to get GREAT artists.  Now do you want to know my secret about how I get these great artist? Let me tell you....

I work hard searching website and searching the internet to find these artists. That is it.  I work hard and I get results. It is not rocket science here.

But I am going to do you a favor and help you get started in finding your hot new artist.  Check out Deviantart for artist.  It is where I go to find all my GREAT artist. So if you like the artist I use check them out.  The rest is up to you. Stop being lazy and do some work.Talk to you later...

ReWorking the LPJ Design website...

At my real job, we have been re-doing our company website, which at the same time has gotten me motivated to updated the LPJDesign.com website.  The one big thing I am going to do with this new website is build a online store so I can sell PDFs directly from the website.  I really want to do different kinds of smaller cost (25 cents to 99 cent PDFs) and unique item PDFs that I can test on this site and if successful I will bring them over to RPGNow.com or Paizo.com.  Right now I have a list of pages that I plan to have on this new website: Homepage, About Us, Contact Us, Catalog, Online Store, Submissions, Retail Locator, Product Support, Gallery and Promotions (Web banner and etc). I am basing the design idea off of 960.gs. if you have never been to 960.gs you might want to check it out. I think you will find it very informative to good web graphic design.  So as I create this new website I will place thing up so you can take a look at what I am planning and to get your comments and critiques.  Talk to you later...

[LPJ Design] Secret Societies of NeoExodus: Order of Kaga released

Louis Porter Jr. Design has released Secret Societies of NeoExodus: Order of Kaga at RPGNow.com and DriveThruRPG.com.  Here is information on this product:

The Order of Kaga was formed during the dark days of the First Ones’ rule. The Kaga (or simply Kaga) was created when mankind’s brightest minds united into a unique feat of arcane magic.  They created a massive ritual that included more than a thousand arcane spell casters. The secret of combining their energy together is something the brightest minds have since tried to understand and recreate without success. Many believe that some great divine magic was used. Others believe that Kaga achieved godhood through the ritual. Others believe Kaga is just a front for some shadow organization.

This magical union gave mankind and its fellow slaves under First One domination an unexpected edge. Like a God-Emperor, Kaga led the rebellion in a series of apocalyptic battles that ended with the crushing of the First Ones’ bases on Exodus. The Kaga is a large repository of knowledge and at times in the past has provided mankind with information and wisdom to make the world a better and more stable place. The Kaga appears as a man made of arcane energy, looking like a red and silver human. “Priests” of Kaga do not draw their power from divine source, but from an arcane source that mimics divine powers. This sourcebook includes:

  • The Order Of Kaga and History of the Kaga
  • The Church of the Kaga and Communing
  • New Character Options: Eight new feats including Arcane Utility, Avatar Familiar and Diviner’s Mastery
  • Two New Prestige Classes: Auger and Harbinger
  • Two New Spells: Mind Graft and Rip Mind
  • New Magic Items, New Tomes and New Wondrous Items
·          Initiative and Monster Cards
·         Combat & Initiative Tracker

Created by JP Chapleau, with Owen K.C. Stephens, Neal Bailey and Louis Porter Jr. Available Here at RPGNow.

Doctor Who’s monsters and aliens are too good not to steal for ideas for fantasy games…

The Weeping Angel. Prisoner Zero. The Silence. These are monster & aliens that scare the pants off of me. Why? They all deal with altering perception in one way or the other. What you see, is not what you see. You see something in the corner of your eye, but you look and nothing is there. These are ideas and concepts that would seem “normal” in sci-fi, are rarely seen in fantasy. To me the concepts of fantasy and sci-fi are virtually interchangeable. If it is a wizard casting a spell or nanites attacking a person, it doesn’t matter. These are just ends to a means. I think they realm of fantasy can be expended with the introduction of “typical: sci-fi” elements into it. That is something we did with NeoExodus: A House Divided. The concept of the Kaga would be a giant computer is a sci-fi setting, but in NeoExodus it still is a “computer” but an “organic computer” with everything done by magic. Giant robots are a standard of sci-fi, but in a fantasy setting, iron golems could take that role in a fantasy setting. Hell I did an adventure called Cold Visitor which is a fantasy version of the movie The Thing. Just something to think about when you think you can’t come up with a new idea for a monster. Talk to you later…
