Grand Theft Exodus webcomic: Moving at light speed...

Well it looks my artist is Superman on the weekends. He completed the initial panels that we have planned for release of the Grand Theft Exodus webcomic release. We plan on releasing four (4) panels initially then going on to release one (1) panel a week. If the Grand Theft Exodus webcomic gets interest then we will increase the frequency to twice a week and up to a maximum of 5 times a week (Oh the beautiful dream!). So with ahead of schedule of 2 weeks I started working on the all new Grand Theft Exodus webcomic website. I would like to have everything done and completed and up at the LPJ Design website by mid August (Just in time for my birthday). I hope to have the stats of Niobe and Tahki completed and for the fans of the upcoming Pathfinder Roleplaying Game soon after that. Just wait a little longer. Talk to you later...

Missing San Diego Comic Con…

OK for another year I am missing San Diego Comic Con. This is the only comic con I have wanted to go to but never have gone to. I have been to the west coast a few time (Vegas, L.A. and once to San Diego when I was 14-ish) but never to the con. So I decided a while back that next year for my 40th birthday present, I was going to San Diego Comic Con 2010. Also with all the going ons with the card game and Grand Theft Exodus, next year’s San Diego Comic Con is going to be FANTASTIC!!! So even though I am missing all the fun this year, it is just setting up my great experience in 2010. Hope to see you there!!!

Working on the other side of the street…

While I am waiting for the release of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, I have been working on my side project, GRAMAR: The Sentence Creation Card GameTM. This is an educational card game I have been working in my head for some time and it looks like the numbers are just right to take this to press and start selling the product in the educational game and toy market. Due to the specific nature of this product, I expect it to do a lot better than anything I have ever seen in the RPG Industry. I have gotten a lot of good feedback from retailers on what they wanted to see from this product. The educational game and toy industry is VERY different from the RPG industry even down to how they get their product to retail stores (FYI: Game and Toy stores don’t use distributors to purchase products, sales people go to the location and sell direct to the store.) so you can get a much better return as a manufacturer. I just bought the new dot.com name for the website and plan for it to be up and running by this weekend. So if you are thing about going into the card game business and you need some help, send me an email and I will do everything I can. Talk to you later…

But once this is done we can move on to the webcomic phase of things including getting advertising for the series. Can't wait. Talk to you later...

The 10 Crack commandments…for RPG Business

One of my all time favorite rapper was Notorious B.I.G. He had a great sound for urban / street rap for the mid-1990s. Off his quadruple platinum (4 million plus) selling album, Ready to Die, there was a music track that really touched me as a business man. That track was the 10 Crack commandments. Basically put the track was an “instruction book” if you wanted to get into the drug scene. While I was not getting into the drug scene I did find it did have some good ideas that you could use in business. Let take these commandments one by one in the lyrics from the track:

Rule Nombre Uno: Never let no one know how much, dough you hold, cause you know. The cheddar breed jealousy 'specially if that man f------ up, get your @$$ stuck up.
Oh yes, I believe this one VERY well. I know this from specific RPG publishers who at one point call me a friend and then went after me to destroy my company behind the scenes.

Number Two: Never let em know your next move Don't you know. Bad Boys move in silence or violence. Take it from your highness I done squeezed mad clips at these cats for they bricks and chips.
Surprise is the best way to go after someone or something. If you don’t think so you might want to read about the Trojan Horse or the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Empire of Japan.

Number Three: Never trust no-body. Your moms'll set that ass up, properly gassed up. Hoodie to mask up, shit, for that fast buck she be layin in the bushes to light that ass up.
This is a little more factual for those in the drug game; but in the arena of business, be careful who you do trust. That could come back to come bite you in the @$$!

Number Four: know you heard this before Never get high, on your own supply.
Another drug scene focused rule but remember to not think you have the greatest stuff out there no matter what. There is always someone out there who is doing something better than you. Learn and remember that.

Number Five: never sell no crack where you rest at. I don't care if they want a ounce, tell em bounce.
Drug focused so we can skip it. But always carry a flash drive with a few of your product that you can give or email someone for free.

Number Six: that god damn credit, dead it. You think a crackhead payin you back, s--- forget it
I have learned this one the hard way. That is why I no longer deal with companies like Studio 2 Publishing or Osseum when dealing with distribution of bookshelf products. Learn how to do that kind of thing yourself it will be better for you in the long run and you never have to worry if they run off with your money. Ask Green Ronin about this with Osseum.

Seven: this rule is so underrated Keep your family and business completely separated. Money and blood don't mix like two d---- and no b----. Find yourself in serious s---.
This rule is my wife’s rule. Keep the business life and real life away from each other especially in its separate room in the house you life in with your girlfriend or wife. It is OK if one room looks like a crappy game store. But no woman is going to stay with you if the entire house looks like that.

Number Eight: never keep no weight on you. Them cats that squeeze your guns can hold jobs too.
Number Nine shoulda been number one to me If you ain't gettin bags stay the f--- from police. If n----- think you snitchin ain't tryin listen. They be sittin in your kitchen, waitin to start hittin.
Number 8 and 9 are really for the drug trade. But remember, nobody likes a snitch.

Number Ten: a strong word called consignment. Strictly for live men, not for freshmen. If you ain't got the clientele say hell no. Cause they gon want they money rain sleet hail snow.
This one is used by me when people sell my products under their company name. I only deal with people who I know can help me make sales and in turn money. If someone comes to you asking if they can sell your product at their site make sure they are legit and can actually help you make additional sales. YourGamesNow.com tried this and failed; Paizo did this and became a nice additional source of revenue for me.

Who said you couldn’t learn anything important listen to rap music. Talk to you later...

Grand Theft Exodus - The NeoExodus: A House Divided Webcomic

So I thought I might start this one off with some REALLY good news. For those who didn't know I have been looking for a new artist to work with me on Grand Theft Exodus - The NeoExodus: A House Divided Webcomic. Well I few weeks back I found one that I liked with the art style that I was looking for. So we have been going back and forth on the desig of the main two characters: Niobe Mylona and Tahki Zitkata.
  • Niobe Mylona: Niobe is a master their who will steal what ever she needs from who ever might have it. Niobe is an adventurer in every sense of the word. She feels high levels of energy, is always on the go, and loves the stoplight to prove she is the worlds greatest thief. She loves Tahki as a friend and a protector and always knows he will be their for her.
  • Tahki Zitkata: Tahki is Niobe’s teacher, back up man and conscious. He has broken from the Cavian Hive Mind and is a loner. He finds comfort in solitude, rarely express anger, and appears to be cold. The only close friend he has seems to have is Niobe, who he would follow through hell to save her if needed.

The artist sent me the final artwork for the character design and now I am showing them to you. We will have more character design artwork coming in the future which will include Protectorate Peacekeepers, mechanical Arcane Intelligences, Khaynites and even Nysska of the Folding Circle. So if you are a fan of NeoExodus: A House Divided then you should be read Grand Theft Exodus. Coming soon. Talk to you later...

Squarespace may change blogging as we know it...

The future of blogging? Maybe. Talk to you later...

Coming at webcomics backward via NeoExodus: Grand Theft Exodus

If you read my blog long enough you will notice that I do several things at the same time so it seems like I am constantly busy. Well I am, sort of. I like to start a lot of different projects, develop them to a point roughly 50% done and then I walk away from them and do something else. The reason is at 50% I have invested a lot of time in it but at the same time I just don't want to walk away from it. One of those projects that falls under this was the unreleased webcomic NeoExodus: Grand Theft Exodus. I first started the development of this roughly 18 months ago with Anthony Cournoyer doing the artwork. But of course as with any business other things became more important and NeoExodus: Grand Theft Exodus gets pushed to the sideline. Enter yesterday, after spending weeks looking for a new artist, I have secured one to do the artwork on the all new NeoExodus: Grand Theft Exodus project. As with Suits, this will be a weekly webcomic series that I hope to start relapsing in August. So stay tuned all you fans of the NeoExodus: A House Divided RPG, NeoExodus: Grand Theft Exodus plans to be just as exciting. Talk to you later...
