[LPJDesign] OGL 3.5 logo created to replace D20 Logo for 3rd Party Publishers

With all the recent changes due to the release of 4e, the GSL and the OGL, we here at Louis Porter Jr. Design have decided to create an all new OGL 3.5 logo which can be used by any and all 3rd party publisher, completely and absolutely free of charge, with any of their products that initial had the d20 logo or was OGL created material.

The reason for this new OGL 3.5 logo; beyond the obvious loss of the use of the d20 logo; is to unify those companies who still wish to support the 3.5 OGL rule set. This logo easily brands and makes d20 and OGL material easy to identify with this logo so people can tell on sight what gaming system they are supporting. The initial concept of the OGL was to make the gaming industry stronger by making it possible for more people to create and make products to support the concepts of the OGL. With the changes in 4e and the GSL, and the recent comments by Linae Foster and Scott Rouse of that you can only make products for either the OGL or the new GSL, this is no longer the case. And with those actions have caused the creation of this new OGL 3.5 logo.

This logo has bee created in several graphic formats including Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Illustrator EPS, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop JPEG and TIFF. Each of these formats comes with three different versions: color, Grayscale and Black and White. A complete zip file containing all these logos can be downloaded directly from this link.

We hope that any and all 3rd party publishers who stick with OGL 3.5 will use and support this initiative. A lot of customers gave us their hard earned money and supported us; I think it is only fair that we return the favor to them. This isn’t the first time David has gone after Goliath and attempted something amazing. Thank you for this support!

Either your with us, or against us...

Well now that the GSL has been release, several important issue have "popped-up" including: If you made products for 4.0, then you can make products for 3.5 and vice versa. Here more of it here! Well it is a great way to kill off anyone supporting 3.5 OGL and stop them from becoming and issue...

UNLESS...

Someone has thought of something that WOTC has forgotten or never even considered. What could I be planning? In the words of one of my favorite quotes - Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: No. They're not going to see this coming. It is so simple and I am amzed no one thought about it. This is going to be BIG. Stay tuned. Talk to you later...

RPG Publishing Gauntlet Episode 001

Well here is the newest RPG Publishing Gauntlet. Enjoy!

PS: Check out the official RPG Publishing Gauntlet page I am working on. It is still a work in progress, but it is moving a long.

The end of the D20 logo...

With this announcement: HERE it looks like it is the end of the D20 logo that we all have been using. So what will be done? How will we be able to identify our D20 / OGL products? Don't worry, I have a plan to answer that and unify us all. Talk to you later...

If you think she's a Drow, you're DEAD WRONG!!!!

What is she? A Drow? No! Some kind of new Elf? No! This is Nysska and she's and Exodite and they are about as far for d20 Elves as you can get! Armed with a Exodite Bladstaff only makes her MORE dangerous! Not only is she one of the greatest, highly skilled assassin in the NeoExodus: A House Divided setting, Nysska is a member of the Folding Circle. Best of all, we created her so you can play her at CR 4, 8, 12, 16 or 20. If you need a reoccuring villain that grows with your PCs, then she and the rest of the Folding Circle will be great for that. So far, you gave now seen two members of the Folding Circle (This images is almost done) with only three more to go. If I was you, I would start saving your pennies for Enemies of NeoExodus: Folding Circle. Coming Soon. Talk to you later...

Return of the RPG Publishing Gauntlet ... with VIDEO

Click this picture!!! It links to the video!!!

Well it looks like I am evolving and my RPG Publishing Gauntlet to a new level with VIDEO!!! Unlike those other RPG sites that are still stuck in the 1950s with audio only, I am making the jump (to at least 1990s) with making this series all digital video. I am still working all the kinks out (I know it is not the world's greatest video playback) but this is the starting point. Sit back and enjoy and see there is more to come. Talk to you later...

How much is a good artist worth?

Let me say it once again, a good artist is worth his weight in platinum!  It amazes me on the number of people who say they want to work as freelance artist and people who actually are FREELANCE ARTIST.  Here is a story about a GREAT FREELANCE ARTIST.

I have been working with Anthony for about a year now.  Mark over at Skortched Urf Studios was kind enough to introduce him to me.  There were several reasons that I liked Anthony; nice guy, quality work and rather inexpensive artwork.  But I knew Anthony was a professional artist from the quality of keeping in contact with me on a project.  Through every stage and step, I will get notified.  If there needs to be a change or something isn’t working artistically, he is there with an e-mail to me with the quickness.  If you are looking for a good artist and want quality work, then Anthony is your guy.  I can’t say enough good things about him.

Now for the other type of artists out there.  The wannabees.  Those who can’t meet their deadlines.  The ones who always come to me with a story that their computer crashed, mother died for the 5 time this year or they could not get a e-mail to me.  The ones that “think” they want to be a freelance artist but can seem to get it together.  Do yourself a favor, QUIT being an artist.  All you do is waste people’s time and ruin your reputation.  My favorite artist offender is Gary “Hive” Simpson.  Just ask Justin at Blue Devil Games about him.  Talk about scary.  Stop wasting everyone’s time.  Especially mine.  Talk to you later…

LPJ Design 2008 First Quarter Report

What a great year we are already off to! Our first quarter of 2008 has been a great improvement over last year and each month of these first three months, LPJ Design has had an average 5% month-over-month increase in sales, even with some fans waiting for 4E release.

The Sidetrek Adventure Weekly series has been a qualified success! The first series has done so well for LPJ Design, that we have already started and released the second Sidetrek Adventure Weekly series; The Undead Chronicles. There has been a great interest in The Undead Chronicles plus with such well know and respected writers like Nicholas Logue, Adam Daigle and Tim & Eileen Connors, only helps solidify the series as the premiere 3.5/OGL adventure and module path series on the market today.

We are also proud to announce that Neal Bailey has been hired to the position of Line Editor to the NeoExodus: A House Divided gaming line. Neal well known RPG companies including Fifth Element Games, Old Kingdom Games and RPGObjects, in addition to his work on the Race Creation Cookbook and the Prestige Class Creation Cookbook for us. Neal has been a fan of the NeoExodus: A House Divided setting since day one and it seemed a perfect match for both of us. With Neal at the helm, we have already set up several all-new projects for NeoExodus: A House Divided including Enemies of NeoExodus: The Folding Circle, Lexicon Chronicles: Arcane Intelligences and Lexicon Chronicles: Lazarus Brand. Look for these projects over the next few upcoming months.

LPJ Design has also been listening to our fans and supporters and we have made business alliance with several of the well-known and respected d20/OGL companies on the market to create the best products possible. With that, when you get the PDF version of Wolfgang Baur’s Kobold Quarterly #4, you will receive the FREE BONUS GIFT of Enemies of NeoExodus: Folding Circle – Brothers-In-Arms. Brothers-In-Arms is a 9-page supplement focusing on 2 NPC associates of the upcoming Enemies of NeoExodus: Folding Circle, which reveals the history of the greatest and most powerful criminal/terrorist organization in the setting. So if you are interested in NeoExodus: A House Divided and Kobold Quarterly, now is your time!

Even with all this, we have even greater plans for products in this upcoming quarter. Once again thanks to everyone support of LPJ Design and Devil’s Workshop!

Finishing the Quarterly report...

Later today I will be sending out the 2008 First Quarter report for LPJ Design. Everything is going good and I hope that it will continue this quarter. No one has heard any thing on the GSL, but, I have come up with two new (old) ideas that needed to be brought back. You will be hearing about them soon. Talk to you later...

Undead Chronciles Player's & Campaign Book Almost Completed

Well I got the materials in for the Sidetrek Adventure Weekly 2 - The Undead Chronicles Player's Guide and the Campaign & GM's Guide. I am just getting the last of the art so we can release the subscription service for this next Sidetrek Adventure Weekly series as early as this week. This series looks like it is going to be a great addition to the Sidetrek Adventure Weekly series. While working on this, I thought about a spin-off to this that I think a lot of people would be UNDYING (get it!) to see it. It is tentively called Obsidian Twilight. Think of it as a a cross between Ravenloft and Dark Sun. The best way to describe it would be a Zombie Apocalypse with magic and psionics. But let's not jump to far ahead, we still have the The Undead Chronicles to deal with first. Talk to you later...
